Regulations Governing Three / Five Year LL.B. Degree Scheme


Title and Commencement of the Programme:
  • These regulations shall be called the regulations governing the Five Year LL.B. Degree (Semester Scheme) leading to the Bachelors Degree in Law.
  • These regulations shall come into force from the date of assent of the Chancellor.

Duration of the Programme:
  • The duration of the programme shall be five academic years comprising of 10 semesters each of 16 weeks duration
  • A candidate who successfully completes the First three year (6 semesters) shall be eligble for the award of Degree of Bachelor of Academic Law(B.A.Law)


Eligibility for admission to the Five Year LL.B. degree programme: A candidate who has passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto, by the Mangalore University is eligble for admission for the first semester of Five year LL.B. Degree Programme. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically, Orthopedic ally handicapped candidates may be given a relaxation of 5% in the marks required.
Explanation: Physically handicapped are included in the following categories of physically handicapped persons.
Blind:
  • total absence of sight
  • Visual accity in existing 6/16 or 20/200(snellam) in better eye with correcting lenses.

Deaf/Mute:
  • Deaf are those in whom the sense of hearing is non functional for ordinary purpose of life.
  • Mute those who cannot speak.

Orthopaedically handicapped:
Orthopaedically handicapped are those who have a mojor physical defect or deformity which causes and interference with normal functioning of bones, muscles and joints.
Provided that Physical/Orthopaedically handicapped candidate may be given relaxation only on production of certificate of disability from the Medical Officer to the satisfaction of the Authority concerned.
